Guard FAQ

Quick answers for installing, running, and sharing useful debug information when something does not behave.

Where do I find the logs, and how can I share them?

In Guard, click Export Support Report. It saves a support-*.txt file and copies the same report to your clipboard. Share that report with the host first, because it includes the useful tail of launcher.log and anti_cheat.log while redacting auth tokens and passwords.

If an admin asks for raw logs, they are usually in C:\YOUR_USERNAME\.moharena-launcher\. Replace YOUR_USERNAME with your Windows username. Send only the relevant recent lines and never share your auth token, server password, RCON password, or private server token.

What does each launcher button do?
  • Browse chooses your Medal of Honor executable, for example moh_spearhead.exe.
  • Save / Load / Delete manage local server bookmarks so you do not need to retype paths, names, passwords, and server addresses.
  • Validate Token checks that your MoH Arena auth token is valid and linked to your account before launch.
  • Clean CFG safely normalizes your active profile cfg. This is important: it fixes easy config problems, persists tracked cvars with seta, removes unsafe script-style binds, and can restore safe default binds where possible.
  • Launch Game runs the full Guard check, starts a verified session, injects your auth token, and launches the game into the selected server.
  • Export Support Report creates a redacted debug report for admins when something goes wrong.
  • Copy Details appears in a compliance alert and copies the exact failure details so you can paste them to an admin.
  • Close closes the compliance alert without launching.
  • Launch and Report appears when the server policy allows it. It launches anyway and reports the issue, useful for servers that are collecting evidence but not kicking for that violation level.
  • Fix and Launch appears when the server would kick for the detected issue. Guard first applies safe fixes, such as cfg cleanup or temporarily parking custom PK3s, then re-checks and launches if the result is clean.
How do I install OpenMoHAA?
  1. Install the clean base game first: grab Medal of Honor Games (Clean) from the MoH Arena Downloads page. OpenMoHAA needs the original game files (main/, mainta/, maintt/) — it does not replace them.
  2. Download OpenMoHAA for Windows from the official releases page. Pick the x64 build unless you are on a 32-bit system (then use x86) — Guard whitelists both.
  3. Extract the zip and copy & paste all of its files into your game folder — the same folder that contains MOHAA.exe / moh_spearhead.exe. Nothing else to configure.
  4. In Guard, click Browse and select launch_openmohaa_spearhead.exe (or launch_openmohaa_base.exe / launch_openmohaa_breakthrough.exe) — not openmohaa.exe directly.
Do I need Guard for every server?

No. Guard is required for protected servers. Regular public servers can still be launched normally, and Guard can launch/report without enforcing protected-server checks when the server is not known to require Guard.

Why should I run Guard as administrator?

Windows can block process, module, file, and screenshot checks unless Guard has enough permission. Running as administrator gives the native helper the access it needs and prevents many false failures.

What should I do if compliance fails?

Read the violation details in the launcher. Safe fixes usually mean normalizing your profile cfg or moving custom PK3s out of monitored folders. If the server allows reporting instead of kicking, you may still be able to launch and report the issue to the host.

Where is the in-game AC badge?

Since Guard 1.0.0, Guard draws the AC badge in your own game on Guard servers, and F7 opens the Guard menu. The old zz_moharena_ac_hud.pk3 is not needed any more; you can delete it from main/, mainta/ and maintt/.

Does Guard scan everything on my PC?

No. Guard focuses on the selected Medal of Honor install, the game process, loaded game modules, competitive cvars/binds, and protected-session evidence. It does not collect browsing history, clipboard data, keystrokes, or unrelated personal files.
